Dreamy Blue

A Dreamy Blues is a Chocolate & Orange Martini that takes on an entirely different look with all the same, luscious flavors. It's a layered cocktail of white creme de cacao and blue curaçao that is best if both liqueurs and the glass are chilled. It can also be made into an eye-catching, layered shot. This is the perfect light cocktail for baby showers if you know it's going to be a boy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz white creme de cacao
  • 1 1/2 oz blue curaçao

Preparation:

  1. Pour the creme de cacao into a well-chilled cocktail glass.
  2. Float the blue curaçao on top.

The Something Blue

According to the Victorian saying, "Something old, Something new, Something Borrowed, Something Blue..." every bride should include blue in their wedding day for good luck. You can't get much bluer than this cocktail, although it's something you won't be wearing there just might be some luck in it. The Something Blue is a delicate blue drink that's easy enough to make that it can be served at a reception, shower or rehearsal dinner and it's eye appeal is a perfectly elegant touch to any wedding.

  • 2 oz Hpnotiq
  • 2 oz white wine
  • 1 oz ginger ale

Frostbite

If you're looking for a blue drink that is thick and creamy the Frostbite is an excellent candidate. Use a premium tequila and white crème de cacao (as opposed to brown) for the best results. I prefer to serve a Frostbite on the rocks, filling the glass with cream and turning it into a blue White Russian from south of the border.

Ingredients:

          • 1 1/2 oz tequila
          • 1/2 oz white crème de cacao
          • 1/2 oz blue curaçao

  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or in an ice-filled old-fashioned glass.
  4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Blue Martini

This beautiful blue Martini is an excellent addition to any party and its tropical sour flavor is a delight. The Deep Blue Sea Martini is made of vodka (Blue Ice American Vodka), blue curacao, sour mix and pineapple juice. While any orange liqueur you have in stock will do, you will not obtain that blue hue unless you use the ever-essential blue curacao.

Ingredients:

        • 2 oz Blue Ice American Vodka
        • 3/4 oz sweet and sour mix
        • 1/2 blue curacao
        • 1/2 oz pineapple juice

Preparation:

  1. Pour the vodka, sour mix, blue curacao and pineapple juice into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Blue Orange Sorbet

Sorbets may take a little more effort than frozen cocktails, but they are worth it. The blue curacao gives this sorbet its beautiful color and adds to the perfect orange flavor of the finished frozen dessert. If you like sorbets, you'll also like the Vodka Lemon Sorbet.

INGREDIENTS:

          • 1/2 cup vodka
          • 2 oz blue curacao
          • 1 1/2 cup sugar
          • 3 cups water
          • grated orange zest
          • 3 1/2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

PREPARATION:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the orange zest; stir until mixture comes to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Place a fine strainer over a large bowl and pour syrup mixture through (straining out any zest).
  5. Add lemon juice and vodka and blue curacao to the strained syrup mixture; stir until thoroughly blended.

Ice Cream Maker Method:
Transfer mixture to ice cream maker, process according to manufacturere's instructions.

Freezer Method:
Pour into a container, cover and place mixture in the freezer. When it is semi-solid, mash it up with a fork and refreeze again. When frozen place in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Cover and refreeze until ready to serve.
